Jameson is just a headache…

    I’m still really confused as to what the main point of Jameson’s piece was. I had read it very carefully, but found it hard to digest even after our class discussion. I think I’m going to have to go back and reread sections now that we have discussed it.

I can see how the idea of history is challenged in Jameson and Fight Club. The idea of history changing depending on if it has already happened, if it is happening now, and how it is represented makes sense to me. The views on an event shifts and changes depending on when it happens. The idea of history being our own helps clarify things a little for me.

The idea of a fragmented self also makes a lot of sense to me. I liked how this was portrayed in the movie. I think having seen the movie before reading this particular piece helped me understand it more. I still am pretty confused by Jameson’s ideas, but I think it will become clearer once we start discussing them more.
